Lift Yourself Up With Jennifer Walden
Jennifer Walden is a plastic surgeon that is located in Austin, Texas. She has been working in the field of plastic surgery for thirteen years. She focuses on the cosmetic aspect of plastic surgery; face-lifts, nose jobs, eye-lid lifts, liposuction and breast augmentations. She is currently the Directors for the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. Walden is also the Vice Commissioner of Communications for the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. She is one of about 851 female cosmetic surgeons in the United States. For the most part it is primarily men in the cosmetic field. Walden thinks that the reason behind so little females in the practice is due to how long schooling takes to become a surgeon. For most women, it means waiting to have children. And some women are not willing to wait. She is constantly proving herself and her skills as a surgeon, and she is ok with that. She feels that she has an advantage in the field. Most women want to have a procedure done, and often feel more comfortable talking to another woman about what they want done. They usually do not want to be a “Barbie doll”, and most men assume this what a woman wants when she goes in for plastic surgery. Walden does understand where women are coming from since she has gotten some reconstructive items done to herself after having twins. Simple things like, botox and a laser to the face. Walden feels that she is helping women gain confidence in themselves, feel like who they use to be, and for some women a better way of life.
